There are 3 Steps to updating your software:
Please check if you have the latest software version before going through the update process.
To check your current software version:
- From the Home Screen, select Settings
- From the Settings menu, select About
- Write down the information provided on that screen (you can use the scroll wheel to see all the information).
If you want to update your software:
You will need a blank USB memory stick that is at least 64MB in size.
Note: The memory stick must be completely empty before it can be used to update the software.
- Insert the blank USB memory stick into your computer.
- Click on the appropriate link below to download and save the file directly to the memory stick.Make sure that the file on the memory stick is called tk30.img. If not, you will need to rename the IMG file to tk30.img.
- Properly eject the memory stick from your computer before Step 3.

- Turn the vehicle ignition all the way on, but do not start the vehicle.
- Insert the USB memory stick into the USB connector on the audio cable that is installed in your vehicle
- The TK30 device will automatically update the software. A progress bar will show the status.
- Wait until the TK30 device power cycle, the device will show "Updating Software" as it checks the software version and then "Upgrade is not necessary." At this point the upgrade is complete and you can remove the memory stick.
- Power off TK30 by turning the ignition off
- Press and hold the green send button and then power on the TK30 by turning the ignition line on and keeping it on through step j.
- Once the unit says installer menu, then you can release the green send button
- Scroll down to Factory Reset and press the rotary knob to select and then press the rotary knob or green button to answer the question with a yes.
- The TK30 will power off and back on again, automatically.
- New software on your TK30 device will require you to reestablish a connection to your Bluetooth devices. Follow the original setup instructions to pair any Bluetooth devices to the TK30 device again.You will also need to enter the Installer Menu to reset any installation parameters, for example: system language, line-out settings, etc. Please refer to the User Manual for additional information.
Note: Do not turn off ignition or disconnect your vehicle battery during the software update procedure. This update process could take up to 10 minutes.
Note: Before step c above, if you receive messages on the TK30 screen that say “Songs not found” and then “Upgrade is not necessary.” the upgrade is not required as you have the latest software on your TK30.
