  • 400MHz or higher processor speed
  • 256MB RAM or higher
  • Approximately 80MB of available hard disk space
  • Available USB port (USB 1.1 or higher)

  • Windows XP (Service Pack 2) or Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4) or Windows Vista (either 32-bit or 64-bit) (Service Pack 1) or Windows 7 (either 32-bit or 64-bit)
  • For Q devices only, ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center is required prior to using Software Update
Please follow these steps below to download the Software Update
  You will need a Motorola micro USB cable to update your device with Motorola Software Update. This cable came in the box with your device.
  Please note that your device may already contain the latest software available for your product. Motorola Software Update will notify you if an update is available once you download the update application and connect your device.
 
Important!

  • This update takes up to 25 total minutes to perform. Your device will not be usable for approximately 13 of those minutes while it is updating.
  • You will need at least 1.5GB of memory available on your computer's hard drive to temporarily store the update.
  • If your Motorola ATRIX(TM) 4G is not detected by Motorola Software Update, please perform the following steps:
    • On your device, go to your home screen and select Menu > Settings > Applications > Development > and then disable the USB Debugging setting.
    • Close Motorola Software Update, power down the device, connect the USB cable, power the device up, and then relaunch Motorola Software Update.

Click the orange arrow below and then select 'Save' or 'Save File' when prompted by your browser. Note: If you are using Google Chrome, this file will be automatically saved in your 'Downloads' folder.

Once the file is downloaded to your computer, double click it to install. Once Motorola Software Update (MSU) application installation is complete, launch the application using the shortcut from your Desktop. Once application is running, connect your phone to your PC via a USB connection. MSU should automatically detect your device within 60 seconds. Then follow the on-screen instructions to update your device.
