Easy-to-follow instructions for setting up Bluetooth®.8

Turning Bluetooth® On/Off/Discoverable8

  1. Launch Bluetooth® from the Start menu
  2. Select Bluetooth® Manager
  3. Select Settings
  4. Set the Status: field to ON or OFF
  5. In addition, to set Bluetooth® to Discoverable mode, check the Allow other Bluetooth® devices to see this phone box.

Pairing8

  1. Ensure Bluetooth® is ON.
  2. Press the Menu key.
  3. Select Paired Devices.
  4. Press the Add key.
  5. The Motorola Q will search for and list devices in range.
  6. Select a device to pair with.
  7. Enter 0000 in the Passkey field using the keypad. To enable the Number pad, press the Alt key twice.
  8. Press the Done key.
  9. Follow the prompts on the second device to complete the pairing.
  10. The devices are now paired.

Hands-free8

  1. From the Bluetooth® Manager, select Hands-free.
  2. Press the Add key.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions, then press the Search key.
  4. The Motorola Q will search for and list any Hands-free devices in range. Select the device to pair with and press the Select key.
  5. Enter the Hands-free device’s passkey, then press the Accept key.
  6. The Hands-free device is now connected.

PC Remote8

  1. From the Bluetooth® application, select BT PC Remote.
  2. Press the Add key.
  3. The Motorola Q will prepare itself to be paired with from a PC.
  4. Initiate a pairing from the PC.
  5. Exchange passkeys with the PC.
  6. Press the Accept key.
  7. The Motorola Q keypad can now be used to control navigation of the PC desktop.
  8. Press the Menu key for more options.
  9. The Motorola Q keypad can also control Windows Media Player, and PowerPoint.
